Dominion Promotes David Searles to Vice President-Gas Operations

Dominion Delivery has promoted David L. Searles to vice president-Gas Operations. In his new position, Searles will be responsible for day-to-day operation of Dominion’s natural gas delivery systems in Ohio, Pennsylvania and West Virginia.

Searles, who will be based in Cleveland, formerly served as director-Delivery Operations with Dominion’s electric business in Richmond, Va. He succeeds Thomas E. Wester, who is retiring from Dominion.

Searles earned a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from The Ohio State University and joined Virginia Power as an associate engineer in 1982. He served in a variety of engineering and supervisory positions in electrical operations and construction in Richmond, Petersburg, Fairfax and Herndon, Virginia, and in Roanoke Rapids, N.C. Dominion promoted Searles to director-Performance and Design in 1998 and to director-Distribution Operations in 2000. He was promoted to director-Delivery Operations in 2003.

Wester, who earned bachelor's and master's degrees in civil engineering from the University of Pittsburgh, is completing a 34-year career with Dominion and the former Consolidated Natural Gas Company, which merged with Dominion in 2000. Wester joined The Peoples Natural Gas Co. in 1970 as an engineering technician. He served in various managerial positions in Pittsburgh and Cleveland. Wester was promoted to his current position in 1999.
